Neal Dempsey, Managing General Partner of Bay Partners
Neal Dempsey joined Bay Partners in 1989 after a varied business career including five years as Chief Executive Officer of Qubix Graphics Systems, one year as Chief Executive of Envision Technology, and several senior management positions with Zentec and Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS).
Neal received his BA degree from the University of Washington’s School of Business Administration. He remains actively involved with the school as a member of the Business School Advisory Board, and as a director of the University’s Foundation.
Neal also serves as a Trustee at Claremont McKenna College and is Chairman of the Board of Eastfield Ming Quong, a Santa Clara-based non-profit that supports emotionally disturbed children and their families. For more information on Bay Partners, visit www.baypartners.com.
Bradford D. Woloson, General Partner
Mr. Woloson joined JMI in 1994 and is based in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Woloson is currently Director of Apparent Networks, Inc., Aptela, Inc., Axeda Corporation, Click Tactics, Inc., Eloqua Corporation, Empathica, Inc., Harmony Information Systems, Inc., Managed Objects Solutions, Inc., Panorama Software, Ltd. and Unica Corporation. Mr. Woloson’s past JMI investment experience includes Astrum Software Corporation, NEON Systems, Inc., Network Intelligence Corporation, Primax Recoveries, Inc., Qiave Corporation and Transcentive, Inc.
Prior to joining the Firm in 1994, Mr. Woloson was a Financial Analyst in the Technology Group at Alex. Brown. Prior to Alex. Brown, Mr. Woloson was a Fixed Income Analyst at Kidder Peabody International, Inc. in London.
Mr. Woloson graduated from Harvard University.

Byron Deeter, Partner
Byron Deeter is a Partner in BVP's Menlo Park office after having previously been a successful entrepreneur, investor, and consultant. For Bessemer he focuses on early stage investments in the software, Internet, and gaming sectors.
Most recently, Byron was an executive at IBM as a result of its 2004 acquisition of Trigo Technologies, the product information management company that he co-founded. At Trigo, Byron served as founding President & CEO, then became Vice President of Business Development as the company grew to profitability, 150 employees, and a $40+ million run-rate. BVP worked closely with Byron and the executive team after Trigo's founding in 1999 and invested in all institutional financing rounds.
Prior to Trigo, Byron worked in private equity with TA Associates where he focused on technology investing with investments in companies such as Kintana (acquired by Mercury Interactive). He came to TA from McKinsey & Company, where he was involved with Fortune 500 clients in the media and technology markets, and was active in McKinsey's Innovation and Technology Management practice.

Joseph Payne, Chief Executive Officer
Joseph Payne brings more than 15 years of leadership and a proven track record with high growth software companies to Eloqua. His focus at Eloqua is to drive the company's strategic direction and to oversee all operations of the company. Joe’s broad experience base in delivering software solutions for marketers gives him a unique perspective of the most pressing concerns of marketers today: visibility, measurement, effectiveness and efficiency.
Joe was most recently President and COO of iDefense, a VeriSign company where he was responsible for the operations of the company. Prior to joining iDefense, he was President and CEO of eSecurity Inc., and President and CEO of eGrail.
Joe’s role as Chief Marketing Officer at MicroStrategy Inc. exemplifies his ability to run the global marketing efforts of a fast growing company in the business analytics market. Mr. Payne also held marketing roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble, and Royal Crown Company.
Joe is also featured on BtoB magazine's Who's Who in B-to-B 2007.
Joe is a Fuqua Scholar and received his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Duke University. He is on the adjunct faculty at the Kogod School of Business at American University.
Steven Woods, CTO
Mr. Woods cofounded Eloqua in 1999 and has held the position of Chief Technology Officer since that time. Mr. Woods brings to Eloqua years of experience in software architecture, engineering and strategy. Prior to cofounding Eloqua, Mr. Woods held positions at Bain & Company and Celestica. Mr. Woods holds a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen's University Mr. Woods is a member of the Eloqua Corporation Board of Directors.
